For 40 years, Kunststofftechnik Paderborn (KTP) has stood for successful research and development of manufacturing processes in the field of plastics and rubbers. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at KTP has up to two vacancies for

research assistants (f/m/d)

(pay grade 13 TV-L)

covering 100 % of regular working hours. These are qualification positions within the meaning of the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG), which serve to acquire scientific competences by developing a dissertation topic in one of the subject areas in plastics engineering research. The positions are limited to a period of one year. A teaching commitment of 4 SWS (semester hours per week) is usually included.
Depending on project approval, the following research areas are vacant:

  • Simulation of plastics processing
  • Joining technology (thermal and mechanical joining technology, bonding)
  • Injection moulding, in particular development of special processes
  • extrusion
  • Additive manufacturing

Recruitment requirements:
- Completed scientific university degree, preferably in mechanical engineering, engineering informatics, industrial engineering, chemical engineering or similar, preferably specialising in plastics technology
- Good knowledge in the field of plastics technology
